On The Wild Side
The purpose of the On The Wild Side Program is to bring environmental education and an outdoor living experience to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade children who have limited opportunity to explore wild places or sleep under the stars.
Teens attend a day-long training session, then work in teams to plan and deliver program components. High school students seeking a meaningful way to connect with and serve are invited to apply for a staff position. Adult volunteers serve as "coaches" who support the teens in their leadership development and growth.
